As believers, we should ask ourselves about the assignment God has bestowed unto us. What could It be? The assignment of God to us was specified here. In verse 28, "God said unto them. Be fruitful and multiply…". It's very funny that many saw this verse in a limited light of understanding, as an access unto bearing children and building large families. Yes, a family, not for our lineage as many thought it to be per say, but for God. This manifestation of divine blessing which serves like obligations is only repeated few times throughout the scripture, and as well to some certain men. While flipping through the pages of the scripture, you will come to the light of God’s knowledge that He only speaks about fruitfulness and multiplication to His kind; His children in His likeness, those who were tried and never compromised His image, like Noah and others. "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples". John 15:8.
I put it to us believers of nowadays that our Maker has endowed in our lives every tools and equipment we needed to do the assignment He placed at our reach. Adam task was to tend and keep all that was in the garden of Eden which could be classified as his workplace, home, sanctuary, territory, world etc. This depicts that as human running a race for Christ, our assignment is to reach out to every living human of this world. Wherever we may find ourselves, let us endeavor to be a banner for Christ reaching out to the unsaved to become saved.
There is this popular saying among today's Christians that, "'I am not called by God', 'I am not a pastor'. so I have nothing to do with evangelism". I will want us to understand that, it is not until when you are anointed with oil that you become a minister of the gospel. From the understanding of Christ word on the great commission, you are divinely appointed as one by default, immediately you get saved and baptised. Soul winning/Evangelism means sharing the good news or light to others who are still covered by darkness. Also to show them the way of receiving the redemption of God through Jesus Christ the author of salvation. Psalms 38:22. Are you a gospel artist, drama ministers, usher in the Church? What kind of departments or office do you belong to? As long as you tend to grow the church or work for God, it is a direct call to testify about Christ. We are all called into Evangelism. "Any ministry that fails to acknowledge and profess Christ is not His." Rise up to the call today and let God direct your paths to fulfill your mandate.
To every divine assignment, there will always be an antagonist to its fulfillment. The moment this God kind assignment is given to man, for the fact that fulfilling its essence will definitely bring havoc and depopulation to the kingdom of darkness, the only thing they will be left to do with, is to either bring you down or to change your direction. Even Christ Jesus faced this challenges (Luke 4:1-13).
Therefore, let your orientation be changed this today and see yourself as an illuminator; a light bearer which others must tap from. Your diligence at your place of work can make you to convince them and start devotional before starting daily work, even Friday’s fellowship can be possible after work, in as much you are not hypocritical in your character. By doing all these, fulfillment of the assignment is very sure and the reward will follow. Brethren, discern your assignment today and pray to God to define it for you in order not to put the cart before the horse, and you will end it well. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the place of the dead).
